    How the score is calculated

Each of the ten dimensions scores 0-3, so the maximum raw score is 30, reported as a percentage. The dimensions are weighted equally on purpose: a team with excellent tooling and poor data quality is not more ready than a team with the reverse — both will produce automation that cannot be trusted.

Why marketing automation readiness comes first

Marketing automation, and any AI layered on top of it, amplifies whatever process it sits on. Nurture and routing rules on incomplete CRM data send the wrong message to the wrong lead; lead scoring on ungoverned data produces confident wrong answers. That is why the assessment weights CRM reliability, data governance and integration quality as heavily as AI usage itself.

    Frequently asked questions

What does a marketing automation readiness assessment measure?

It checks whether your marketing operation has the foundations automation depends on. This assessment scores ten dimensions: documented workflows, CRM reliability, data quality, system integration, manual effort, measurement, AI usage, ownership, change governance, and how well your toolset fits the way you work.

How is the readiness score calculated?

Each of the ten questions scores 0 to 3, so the maximum raw score is 30, reported as a percentage from 0 to 100. All dimensions are weighted equally. Scores map to four maturity bands: Foundational (0–39), Developing (40–59), Operational (60–79), and Advanced (80–100).

What should we fix before buying or expanding a marketing automation platform?

Start with the foundations automation runs on: CRM and contact data quality (required fields, clear stage definitions, and deduplicated, consent-tracked lead records) and documented versions of your highest-volume workflows such as lead capture, qualification, routing, and nurture. Automating on inconsistent data scales the inconsistency.

What should we do after getting our score?

Work on the weakest dimensions the results list first, and pick one high-volume workflow to fix end to end before automating the rest. To build the business case, estimate savings with the Marketing Automation ROI Calculator; to decide whether a single marketing process is worth automating, use the Marketing Workflow Automation Scorer.

Is this the same as the AI Search Readiness Checker?

No. This assessment scores your marketing operation from your own answers to ten questions. The AI Search Readiness Checker is a separate tool that fetches a web page and runs automated checks (llms.txt, sitemap, JSON-LD, FAQ content and more) to see how ready it is for AI answer engines such as ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Are my answers stored or sent anywhere?

No. The assessment runs entirely in your browser with no sign-up, and your answers are not sent to a server. Refreshing the page clears them.
